Embodied Yoga and Meditation for Spinal Health

More than ever we find ourselves leading sedentary lives sitting at desks, working on zoom, traveling in cars and more.

Back pain and aches are very common. This class has been created to help maintain spinal health and to relieve stress that creates tension in and around the spine.

"If you would seek health, look first to the spine"

– Socrates

Embodied Yoga and Meditation for Anxiety & Overwhelm

The world we live in asks a lot of us, it can feel quite crazy and intense at times.

It's perfectly human to feel anxiety and overwhelm with pandemics, wars and rising costs of living happening around us.

It's more important than ever that we find ways to tap into states of peace and relaxation and find balance.

This class focuses on resetting the body, shifting heightened energy through movement and by activating the parasympathetic nervous system, guiding participants to a state of test and relaxation.

“You cannot always control what goes on outside, but you can always control what goes on inside.”

- Wayne Dyer

Meditation & Yoga Nidra

Guided mediation tailored to each group helping you move through specific mental imagery or walking you through a series of breathing exercises or mantras to help you practice meditating.

Yoga Nidra also known as yogic sleep in modern usage is a state of consciousness between waking and sleeping, typically induced by a guided meditation.

Yoga Nidra promotes deep rest and relaxation.

It works by gently guiding you through four main stages of brain wave activity: beta, alpha, theta and delta. The ultimate goal is to achieve a hypnagogic state, which falls between wakefulness and sleep. It’s that magical time just before you fall asleep when the body is in deep relaxation while the mind is still reasonably lucid.

As you progress through the four stages of brain wave activity, your physical and mental well-being can improve as stressful thoughts and tension start to fade away.

“There beneath all the thinking and doing, you are at peace.

You ARE peace. YOU are the peace you’ve been looking for all along.”
― Tamara Verma

Sound Bath & Vocal Toning

This is a meditative experience where you will be “bathed” in sound waves. These waves are produced by various sources, healing instruments including singing bowls, percussion, chimes, rattles and the human voice itself.

According to studies sound baths help with stress, fatigue, and depression symptoms.

“Since the human body is over seventy percent water and since sound travels five times more efficiently through water than through air, sound frequency stimulation directly into the body is a highly efficient means for total body stimulation, especially at the cellular level. Direct stimulation of living cellular tissue using sound frequency vibration has shown marked cellular metabolism and therefore a possible mobilisation of a cellular healing response”

- Jeffrey Thompson, Director of the Center for Neuroacoustic Research at The California Institute for Human Science.

Therapeutic Writing & Art

“Writing is a form of therapy; sometimes I wonder how all those who do not write, compose, or paint can manage to escape the madness, melancholia, the panic and fear which is inherent in a human situation.”

Graham Greene, Ways of Escape
